50 STUDENTS GRADUATED FROM THE VOCATIONAL PROGRAM FACILITATED BY SMM AND MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY

Belitung, 9 Agustus 2022 – PT Sahabat Mewah dan Makmur (SMM), a subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) released 50 students who successfully graduated from Vocational Education Program equivalent to D-I on August 6, 2022 ago. The Vocational Education Program is the result of collaboration with the Industrial Chemical Technology Polytechnic (PTKI) Medan, one of the government-owned universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenperin).

The graduation ceremony was held at the ANJ Learning Center (ALC), East Belitung, attended by the Acting Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Dr. Ir. Ridwan Djamaluddin, M.Sc, Regent of East Belitung, Drs.  Burhanuddin, and Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir.  Arus Gunawan.

This Diploma one (D-1) vocational education and training program embodies the commitment of SMM and ANJ Group to support the provision of competent and superior human resources (HR). The program provides enhanced competence and expertise for vocational graduates so that East Belitung graduates can compete with graduates from other regions.

In his speech, Juli Wankara, Resident Director of SMM, said that with the end of this vocational program, graduates can improve their knowledge and skills so they can compete in the job market. They are also expected to compete and work better in the future.

Evencus Hutajulu, Director of PTKI Medan, hopes that this achievement will be the start of the success of graduates in the future after going through many obstacles during the learning process.

"All students who graduated are given a certification from the Ministry of Industry and receive a transcript and competency test certificate issued by the BNSP," said Evencus.

East Belitung Regent, Drs. Burhanuddin also appreciated and thanked SMM for always providing support for the development of vocational education.

“Take advantage of the opportunities that have been given and keep learning.  Remember that this is only the beginning and you have to keep improving yourself,” said Burhanuddin.

Galuh Nurrahman, one of the students who graduated from the D-1 equivalent Education Program, explained that vocational education consists of theory, practice and written exams.

"They usually teach the material first before field practice, and after that, we practice alone. We do this for a year until we get a certificate," said Galuh.

In supporting the industry to provide competent human resources, the Ministry of Industry has organized higher education at several levels ranging from Diploma to applied Masters, including the Diploma-I equivalent program which is a collaborative program with industry.

The collaboration between SMM and PTKI is one of the manifestations of the company's vision to improve human life and nature. ANJ is committed to provide communities around its operational areas with the necessary education and skills in the required fields.
