APPLYING THE BEST GCG AND ESG-BASED PERFORMANCE, ANJ WON GCG AWARD

24 Feb 2022

Jakarta, 24 Februari 2022 – PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) won the “Excellence Good Corporate Governance Implementation on Integrating Sustainable Business” award in the Agribusiness category from Warta Ekonomi Magazine. The award was given at the 2022 Indonesia Excellence Good Corporate Governance Awards with the theme "Implementing a Continuous Process", held virtually on 24 February 2022.

The award is an appreciation for ANJ's commitment to consistently implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) practices aligned with ESG-based performance in ensuring the sustainability of the company's business.

The implementation of good governance has supported the company’s outstanding performance. In 2021, ANJ managed to record a CPO (crude palm oil) production volume of 262,683 tons, an increase of 7.4% compared to the previous year of 244,485 tons. 62,022 tons of the 2021 production results were produced in the fourth quarter. The increase in production has had a positive impact on the company's performance due to the high average selling price (HJR) of CPO in 2021. As of September 30, 2021, the HJR reached US$752 per MT, which allowed ANJ to post a net profit of US$26 million.

ANJ is committed to continue implementing and improve the quality of corporate governance implementation in every process carried out by the standards that apply in Indonesia, ASEAN, and international best practices. GCG implementation is carried out by all levels, from the Board of Commissioners, directors, to employees.

In carrying out corporate governance, ANJ consistently makes improvements by the standards set by the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). For 2020, ANJ has appointed the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD) to assess ANJ's Corporate Governance (CG) practices. ANJ managed to get a compliance rating of 87.57 for 2020, higher than the previous year's rating of 86.68. It means that the implementation of the company’s corporate governance has gone beyond compliance and adopted some of the required international standards.

ACGS is an initiative of the ASEAN Capital Market Forum (ASEAN Capital Market Forum) to integrate the capital markets of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The countries participating in the ACGS are Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The implementation of ACGS started in 2011.
