ANJ COLLABORATES WITH GAPKI TO SUPPORT PROTECTION AND WELFARE OF WOMEN WORKERS IN PLANTATIONS

East Belitung, October 27, 2022 – PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. (ANJ) participated in the "Socialization and Workshop on Protection of Women Workers in Oil Palm Plantations in Bangka Belitung" held by the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) on October 27-28, 2022, at Swiss-Belhotel Pangkal Pinang.


The workshop was attended by several speakers, including Sumarjono Saragih, Head of GAPKI's Manpower Division, Sunardi, Head of the Manpower Office/DISNAKER of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government, Darusman A, Chairman of SPSI/Serikat Pekerja seluruh Indonesia representing Bangka Belitung, and several representatives of palm oil companies and farmers in Bangka Belitung. In addition, Yuli Adiratna, Director General of the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, representing Ridwan Djamaluddin, Acting Governor of Bangka Belitung, was also present at the workshop.


Present as one of the speakers, Yomeidinar, Director of HR & Change Management, ANJ Group, said that with the support and encouragement of the company, female employees would be able to improve their competencies, which ultimately results in a successful career, also an excellent overall performance by the company. Diversity, equal opportunity, and women's empowerment all positively impact ANJ Group's operations.
"All our subsidiaries already have a Gender Committee consisting of employee representatives and management members. The committee is tasked with encouraging the improvement of working conditions for women and developing knowledge about women's empowerment, protection of women and children, and childcare," added Yomeidinar.


Meanwhile, Sunardi said that Bangka Belitung is a province dominated by female workers in the oil palm sector. On average, they work in administration, maintenance, and harvesting. Thus, the government is expected to ensure that companies can protect female workers in the oil palm sector.
GAPKI, as an entrepreneurial organization, has compiled a practical guide from various good practices among its members. The guide is published in the form of a printed book. The Practical Guide to Protection of Women Workers was disseminated with a workshop.


"It is hoped that this guide can be a tool to implement the protection of women workers in all oil palm plantations. Including smallholders to corporate-scale farmers," concluded Sumarjono.

Rangkaian kegiatan Safari Ramadan 1445 Hijriah berlangsung di mesjid Masjid Al-Hidayah Janjimatogu pada tanggal dan Mesjid Al-Falah Binasari 26 dan 28 Maret 2024.
