ANJ CELEBRATES THE GRADUATION OF 18 PAUD STUDENTS IN THE KAIS DISTRICT

Sorong Selatan, 20 Juni 2022 – Through the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) program, PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) and its partner Alirena celebrated the graduation of 18 PAUD students from PAUD Lahai Roy in Benawa 1 village and from PAUD Sion in Sumano village, Kais District, South Sorong on Tuesday (14/6) and Wednesday (15/6). It is a celebration of the graduation of PAUD students for the 2021/2022 academic year, which have been mentored by Alirena since June 2021.

In his remarks, while attending the graduation ceremony in Benawa 1 and Sumano villages, Hengky Gogoba, S.Sos.  MA, Head of the Education and Culture Office of South Sorong Regency, said that the early childhood education process had been running according to procedures.  However, community support still needs to be improved because the education program cannot run without the support from all stakeholders, including the local community and the government. Hengky, as Head of the South Sorong Education Office, also expressed his gratitude to the leadership of ANJ and the Alirena Foundation and their staff.

  

Meanwhile, ANJ's representative, Arianto Wibowo, Head of CID & Cooperatives, encouraged and motivated graduates to continue to study and pursue higher education.

As ANJ partner, Alirena has been working in Sumano and Benawa since July 2019, establishing PAUD and TK, as well as providing four educators with learning materials and applications that are in line with cultural themes. Playgroups are divided into two age groups, one to three years (PAUD A) and three to four years (PAUD B), while TK is divided into groups of four to five years (TK A) and five to six years (TK B).

Alirena's track record in education in Papua is well known, and even their Sekolah Anak Indonesia in Bogor is collaborating with the local government to educate Papuan children.

“After working with Alirena and various stakeholders, including village officials, community, religious leaders, and others for 3 years, we have seen many academic developments and improvements in our students. Education must be carried out with the contribution from all elements of society in supporting success and preparing children's future through education from an early age. In 2021, we have added sanitation and hygiene programs for children, namely the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle or PHBS, as well as gardening and poultry farming programs," concluded Arianto.
