ANJAS DELIVERED SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL PREMIUMS TO THE BINASARI FARMING COOPERATIVE IN SOUTH TAPANULI

South Tapanuli, 16 November 2023 – PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Agri Siais (ANJAS), a subsidiary of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk. (ANJ), distributed premiums from the sale of sustainable palm oil to partner farmers in the South Angkola District, South Tapanuli, through the Binasari Farmers Cooperative. The total premium amount reached IDR 126,522,013. The symbolic distribution of palm oil premiums occurred at the ANJA Siais Club House in South Tapanuli on November 14, 2023, with representatives of the Binasari Farmers Cooperative receiving the premiums.

The premium handover symbolizes appreciation for the farmers' dedication to sustainable palm oil management and cultivation practices within the RSPO certification scheme. These farmers are affiliated with the Binasari Farmers Cooperative, boasting over 80 members and a collective land area totaling 157.50 hectares.

Moh. Amrol Siregar, General Manager of ANJAS, stated that the Binasari Farmers Cooperative was the first cooperative to receive premiums for sustainable palm oil. "We aspire for all collaborating farmers within our business unit to adhere to RSPO principles, enabling them to receive premiums for sustainable palm oil," said Moh. Amrol Siregar.

At the event, Geetha Govindan, Deputy President Director of ANJ, highlighted that ANJAS has been present since 2005, contributing significantly to the economic development and empowerment of the surrounding community. This commitment is demonstrated through the partnership with the Binasari Farmers Cooperative.

"On behalf of ANJ Group Management, I extend my deepest gratitude, as this achievement is inseparable from the support of the community, related stakeholders, and the regional government in South Tapanuli," concluded Geetha.

The ceremony to hand over sustainable palm oil premiums was attended by Novita Sari Wahyuni, Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Regional SME Trade and Cooperative Service, along with Rahmat Shaleh, representing the Regional Agriculture Service of South Tapanuli Regency, Dody Kurniawan, Head of South Angkola District, Martua Siregar, Head of Pardomuan Village, and administrators and supervisors from the Binasari Farmers Cooperative.

In her speech, Novita expressed the sincere appreciation of the regional government for the distribution of sustainable palm oil premiums to the Binasari Farmers Cooperative."Thank you for the assistance and support extended by ANJAS to farmers within the Binasari Farmers Cooperative. I hope palm oil farmers will remain dedicated to maintaining this valuable partnership. Furthermore, I aspire to see the Binasari Tani Cooperative become a model for other cooperatives, allowing them to benefit from sustainable palm oil premiums," said Novita.

Siarmin Simamora, Chairman of the Binasari Farmers' Cooperative, expressed appreciation to ANJAS management. The premium provision highlights the commitment of Tani Binasari farmers to sustainability standards, particularly RSPO, in producing palm. This success is credited to ANJAS management's outstanding guidance in professional and sustainable plantation management.
