The United Nations (UN) SDGs are ambitious goals to improve the wellbeing of present and future generations. The 17 SDGs aim to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges through the promotion of sustainable development. Many of these challenges are clear to us in the areas where we operate. We believe that we contribute towards the achievement of the SDGs through:
The UN SDGs explicitly calls on business to contribute, along with governments and civil society, to end poverty and create a life of dignity and opportunity for all within the boundaries of the planet. This requires businesses to apply creative and innovative thinking in solving sustainable development challenges. Following the steps recommended by the UN Global Compact (UNGC), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to develop our SDGs Compass, we unpacked our Responsible Development (RD) approach, including our corporate values, and identified where and how we aligned with the SDGs.
